2:00am
This is one of the last teeth left to collect from the Little Wagoush Girl. It has been a wonderful few years.
It's a bittersweet job as it winds its way down to these final visits.
Did you know, that we can look into a child's dreams when we come to collect their teeth? I have been contemplating documenting the dreams this Wagoush girl has had during my stealthy visits. She laughs a lot. There are times, just after I've replaced the tooth pouch her Mother made for her, that I'm watching a Wagoush dream unfold, and I've been here when some dreams have been sad, or frightening. The Mother has always woken, and helped her little Wagoush weave a new dream. It's the oddest thing. The Mother hugs her little Wagoush, and without ever waking up the sleeping child, speaks softly to her, and says something along these lines: "Sweetheart, you are having a sad Dream, it's okay." Then, the Mother will weave a sweet story, and ask her Little Wagoush if she sees the new images, and the little Wagoush always nods, or giggles at the new Dreamscape. Her breathing evens out, and I find myself watching the old Dream dissolve as the new Dream manifests, like magic really, right before my eyes!
Tonight was one of those nights when a new Dream had to be woven and a frightening one dissolved to meaninglessness. It's quite a bond between some of these Mothers and their Daughters.
I was assigned to collect the teeth of children with good parents this time around, and I'm still trying to figure out what else I'm meant to learn. When I first began, like every Tooth Fairy before me, I was sent to the homes of children who suffer, and endure atrocities that no child should ever know. We're sent into these homes, watch the Dreams, and from the pain and suffering, we develop empathy and compassion for humans. I'm not sure yet, what I'm meant to learn from this child and the adult humans around her. I've collected her teeth mostly while in her Mother's care, half a dozen times while she was with her Granny, and a couple of times while she was with her Daddy. There's definitely a lot of love surrounding this little Wagoush. Maybe that's what I'm learning? That there are different, good ways to love people as they grow and change?
I'll think on this, and if it occurs to me as an epiphany, I'll keep you posted.
Before I leave the Wagoush Girl's house, I'll tell you a secret...
Some adult humans still believe in us...they refer to us by many names. This duo come from a long line of ancient ones, born of this land, who speak of The Little People, and the mischief we cause. Other peoples take our existence for granted - from those ones, we learn patience...
Please don't be offended with the way I'll sign off, we are not to tell humans our names. The ones whose baby teeth we collect will meet us when they return to Spirit Land, and when we place their baby teeth into their hands, we introduce ourselves to them, and all their memories of life before they chose their parents will come flooding back. Then they are able to share what they learned of humanity during their time in human-form so that we, the Little People can continue to help them as we grow and move from Tooth Fairies into other spiritual forms...
Isn't that something? The way we are all connected despite so many of you choosing not to recognize it?
Well, that's it then. I wish you a kind, and creative Dream Weaver,
A Tooth Fairy
